Guest guest
Hey June! Thumper buddy!!!! You've pointed out what many of us agree on...that we all have different symptoms, different possible causes, and therefore, different effective responses. No offense taken from anything you said. One thing you said that was interesting, though, was when you said, " This is a muscle affliction of some kind,.. " Do you remember an email I wrote about a month ago, where I identified three different types of RLS attacks I get? One seemed to just be nerve involvement (that crawly feeling and need to wiggle or shake my legs or arms), the other was muscle involvement (where the weird feelings were also accompanied by muscles knotting up), and the third was the overall body panic/crawling/crazy feeling. I've had the first and third kind for 40 years. But the muscle involvement has just started in the last few years..turning to pain last January. I think I'd agree, that once my muscles are involved, I've GOT to do something physical, like walking, stretching, heel lifts, or the Thumper Concentration or distraction techniques won't loosen the muscles. So, if I go to bed or am watching a movie or reading a book, and the RLS starts, and it's just crawly feelings, I can use the concentration methods. But if starts knotting up my muscles, I've learned to say, " Hmmmmm...Type II RLS in progress...gotta move to some other tricks. " Does that make any more sense?
