The usual e-mail list recommendation is that you only repeat pertinent parts

of the prior post that you are responding too. It is clutter and a waste of

bandwidth to copy the entire previous post.

To delete the entire prior message might lead to confusion but it would be

helpful to delete the parts of the message that not relevant to your response.
