Guest guest
Welcome a and ! Being 13 and having CMT is very hard. About the " expectations " - she can achieve great things. That's what my parents told me. I never let my CMT, or limitations stop me and I still don't. The hardest thing for me to learn was to listen to and respect my own body and what it was telling me. Like when I am tired, stop and rest! I think I finally " got this " when I was about 27! As for the electrical shock type pains, I just started getting those last summer, anything before that was just a feeling of numbness. Elavil and Neurontin are two medications I know of that help with the pains, you might ask the doctor about these. Gretchen P.S. Alisha (from our list) recently started a CMT and children/teens email discussion list, if any of your children/teens are interested.
