Hi Muriel,

For the first few months of taking mirapex, I also had muscle and joint

pain. Dr. Levin, who was in our group at the time, told me it was a side

effect of mirapex. Soon after that the pain went away, for the most

part. I'm like you - i would hate to stop taking it, as it works better

than anything else I've tried Probably not a drug anywhere without some

kind of side effect!

As a point of comparison, I've also taken Mirapex for several weeks with no

side effects. Since my physician increased the dosage from .125 to .375 mg

HS, it seems to do a good job of quieting the nerve impulses with a bonus

of giving me some incredibly interesting dreams. (I didn't notice any

changes for the better at .125 mg.) I run 2 - 4 miles per day, six days a

week, and lift weights several times also. I take Naprosyn for lower back

pain, and I haven't noticed that pain increasing or decreasing since

starting Mirapex.
