Guest guest
Hi Cat, When I took Bactrim for a kidney infection it REALLY kicked off an uncontrolable 'shake' above and beyond the CMT tremors. I called my pharmacist who said 'sounds like an allergic reaction' and told me to stop the medication. I called my Dr. who gave me a different, non-sulfa med. for the infection. That 'shake' stopped, and the kidney infection cleared up. To this day I make sure I get NO sulfa drugs (of which Bactrim) is in that clas) drink tons of water and cranberry juice. Whether it is just me that has the sulfa drug allergy, or it has some wierd effect on peripheral nerves I don't know. Gretchen
Guest guest
Hi, Gretchen: I also had a reaction to a sulfa drug (I guess) called Microbid for a urinary tract infection. It made me numb from my waist down.
