Guest guest
I'm also am interested in hearing about trip experiences. My husband and I travel at least twice a year to see our grandchildren in FL. I always ask for wheelchair assistance. Sometimes we get really nice transporters and a few times we have nasty ones. Once I has a woman who insisted we had missed our connecting flight in Atlanta because of the time difference between Phila.and Atlanta. Actually, they are both in the same time zone. Last year we went on a lovely cruise to Alaska. I had trouble walking when the ship was rolling because of balance problems. But I managed because there are railings on all the walls. The waiters were right at the dining room door to help me and also carried my trays when we went to the buffets. One problem I had was , there was no railing in the main showroom and they made all the handicapped passengers sit in the last row where there was minimal leg room. I never saw the end of any shows because my legs were getting cramped. I guess I could have asked for a single chair and put it with the wheelchair people but I always forgot. There were some people in scooters and they got along very well. Going down the gang plank was easier then I expected. There was an excellent railing and plenty of eager hand to help. Sight seeing buses had the first seats reserved for handicapped and we also went on the sight seeing train with no problems. I would like to hear from anyone who went to Disney World. I'm going to try that next with my grandchildren. I heard there are scooters to rent and they let you go first in line. One place I have given up on is the beach. Can't walk on the sand. This is the longest message I have written. Thanks for your patience. Joan
