Guest guest
Hi folks: At our support group lst Thursday, one member spoke of banging on his legs and how it helped his RLS somewhat. I said I had read about something called the Thumper, but I hadn't taken notes on it. I've been stressed to the max lately because of overwhelming accumulation of disruptive events, so my usual competency as a Support Group Leader who takes copious notes to be able to bring to the group, has gone kaput on me. I'm sure there are a hundred of you out there who know all about it now, but just one or two of you posting on this list, giving me the name of it, and where to order one, would be sufficient. Please don't overwhelm me with private letters, as much as I usually love to get them, but I'm simply not up to them right now. My home remodelling has been going on for almost 2 months, and it's not finished yet, and I can't find things when I need them, and added to that I have a dear aunt hanging to life by a thread and I'm at the hospital as often as I can manage. Though my RLS is under control, my ability to handle stress, and the ability to handle my depression aren't under control. I, too, suffer from that debilitating weariness, where a 10' walk from the lazy boy to the kitchen counter seems like a 10 mile hike. And when I get to the counter, I wonder where I'll get the ambition to cook a meal. Thanks, friends, to info on the Thumper. I promised I'd call the member when I got the information. Guest guest
Jill, susan, metamom123 purchased thumper sharper image $290.Has60 day return policy so I'll return it. one caution though when running down the middle of your back don't do it on the spine. also the manual says it should have a polarized a.c. plug on it ,which it did not. the polarized plug is important for your safety. there may be a device that is better than the thumper . it looks something like an hour glass. you put it on the floor and lie on your back on it. its made of wood it works on the accupressure principle by applying pressure to .,the muscles. my orthopedist says the muscles in my back are tight so he gave me some exercises to do, the regular ones from yoga, cobra forward bends, backward bends, lying knee ups. also told me to go back the to gym and do seated pulldowns. these exercises maybe the key to relieving rls , works on the spine. the BACKSIE is available from BODY TOOLS.in Calif. they have a catalogue with a full line.cost about $26, also available in some health food stores. from reading your posts and your interest in the holistic you may be a vegetarian ive been a veggie for about 30 years organic mostly, no dairy no eggs, from reading the posts ,IMHO we are to caught up in our illness. conversation is always on the meds, the drs,&the symptoms. i sincerely believe in meditation, meditation on the breath, and breathing exercises. alternate nostril breathing works with the sympathetic nervous system. my DR said 'FORGET ABOUT IT. " there only interested rusted in the how much meds.they can pump into you and the bottom line. i have an idea where everybody participates in a holistic exercises while in the chat room intrested? arthur
