Hi Everyone,

The more I read about what we are all taking, or not taking, the more

confused I am becoming! Life used to be so simple - just go to the

doctor, get that prescription filled, and trust in modern medicine. Of

course it ceased to be simple when rls hit the scene - nothing has helped

very much for any length of time, and in the case of sinemet, I was soon

in worse shape than before I started taking it. Since stopping it, and

using mirapex, things are somewhat improved, but the side effect of

insomnia, plus daytime symptoms starting to kick in, have me constantly

looking for other avenues of relief. The reason FDA does not regulate

the " natural " remedies is because they are not technically considered

drugs. However, we here in the group seem to be of the consensus that if

they work, they are! In which case we are messing with some very scary

stuff, by ingesting substances which are under no guidelines or control

whatsoever. When I attempt to research these " natural drugs " , all I

usually get are basically advertisements from the various manufacturers

who are all interested in selling, not educating. Despite the supposed

safety and effectiveness of traditional pharmaceuticals, there are horror

stories both here in our group, and among friends and family as well.

Sometimes I just feel like throwing everything away, and see what

happens! Not really about to do that of course, but as I started out by

saying in this long winded letter, I am so confused! Thanks for letting

me go round and round here, for those of you who haven't deleted by now!
