As a kid, we would put pepper/vinegar sauce (home-made) on our peas/veggies.

The older I get, the more I realize that my G'folks & even my parents (as

taught by their parents), were wiser than I thought regarding some of their

" folksy " traditions and dietary habits.

It is well known that adding Vit C (ascorbic acid) will increase the

absorption of iron.
