Guest guest
Hello, my name is Joyce and I live in Arizona. I had been diagnosed as a carrier of CMT 25 yr. ago, and my youngest son with the disease. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 6 years ago. About 4 months ago my hands felt like they were sleeping or burning or just frozen. I went to see a neurologist and had an emg. This doctor informed me that I had CMT. I have lost the feelings in my feet and now it seems it will do the same to my fingers ands than my palms.I was so very angry and frustrated till I read about some of your questions. How very selfish of me and how stong so many of you are. I hope you enjoy this little saga. Seize the Moment I have a friend who lives by a three word philosophy . Seize the moment. Just possibly she may be the wisest woman on this planet. Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, do not have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine. I got to thinking one day about all the women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From than on, I've tried to be a little more flexible. How many women out there will eat at home because their husband don't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed. How often have your children dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched Jeopardy on TV. Or how often have you called your sister or friend and said lets go out to lunch in one hour. they replied I can't because 1. I have clothes on the line 2.My hair is dirty 3.I wish I had know yesterday 4. I had a late breakfast, anyway something may happen to them and you never did have lunch with them Because Americans cram so much onto their lives, we tend to shedule headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are p reflect. Life has a way of accelerating, as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of " Imgoing to, or I plan to. someday. But when anyone calls my seize the moment friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes and you are ready to trade in your bad feet for a pair of roller blades, and skip an elevator for a bungee cord So my friends go on and have a wonderful day, do something you want too and not something on your should do list. I hope this will bring a smile to all.
