Guest guest
Hi all, Every job I ever interviewed for, I explained my fidgeties and always made a point of stressing the fact that I would have to get up and walk around and that it would not be because of slacking on the job. Most of the responses were favourable; those that were not, I passed on the job. I wouldn't be able to handle being forced to sit 8 hours. The hardest part was staying alert on the job after sleepless nights even if RLS was non existent during the day. This affected my job more than the RLS itself. You can walk about and shake off the fidgeties, but you can't take a nap at 3pm! I am now working from home doing consulting and go out on 2-3 hour jobs on site. I also go to school and had to explain myself why I have to stand at back of lecture hall on many occasions. As Connie put it, such is life.... Pleasant dreams to all, Ana Casinha, 34 Woodbridge, Ont. Keeping Job with RLS >From: bowlpoker@... > >Hello everyone I know it has been awhile since I have been in touch. Recently I went back to my Mental Health appt. the Dr. is trying me out on a different antidepressant hoping this will help ease my suffering with RLS. They are trying to wean me off Effexor and trying a new one at the same time which is Remeron? I was told if this antidepressant doesn't help with my suffering I'm to go and see a neurologist thinking maybe my antidepressant isn't the cause of my RLS. But, the main reason I wanted to catch up with the group is to say to Kat that I'm unemployed at this time in my life because of this for my symptoms are also during the daytime which causes my legs to become weak. The issue of Disability is to prove that you have done everything possible through the Dr's and there is no cure or way of relieving your symptoms. This is what I am going through right now I do not know if I will be able to get Disability but, if you believe that you can no longer work because of this you have to do what you think is right? Sorry , for such a long note but, wanted to put my input in on this subject. I have alot of testing and Dr. appt's to go through before I can even start to file and to hope and pray that I can switch antidepressants without any problems last time I was tried to get off Effexor I ended up in the hospital due to going into severe shaking episodes. So wish me luck group!! And Kat if you want any advise on Disability please ask the group they give you the best advise and are there to help you in anyway they can. I wish you all the best. Guest guest
I always have to explain that my swinging leg or tapping foot, which is the daytime RLS I still have not found treatment for, is not boredom or anything else, I just have RLS, and to ignore it. That usually works, My nightime RLS is under control, TAHNK GOD!!
