cmt type 2 and afo's/coping

Donna,

tried braces that were hard plastic and came up to his knees, and they

were horrible. I got him some Birkenstock work boots that are working even

better for him. He is 36, and we think he has had CMT for a long long time.

His feet were deformed at birth, so he has probably had it since birth and no

one knew to diagnose him. He just recently started having the nerve pain

though - since December. He has been really blue at times, but now that he

is back to work, he is feeling in a better mind set. Most of the time

anyway. But he still hurts from foot pain, and he gets very sore in his

other muscles. Plus he bruises easily and very badly, which is really new

for him. I am proud of him for being as chipper as he is now - I worried a

great deal about him a month ago.
