Guest guest
Hello Group, Tonight I went to bed early 8:30 PM. Slept for two hours before being awakened with RLS. Maybe this is a solution---go to sleep earlier, get up for a few hours, then go back to bed at a reasonable time say midnight rather than 2-3 am. I have been doing various kinds of bodywork---masasage, acupressure, etc--- for a living for 10 years. i started to think after reading descriptions and getting info from this list and starting to pay closer attention to what was happening for me that perhaps there would be something in a kind of bodywork called cranio sacral therapy that would help us out. I called the Upledger Institute in FL to ask if they had any experience with RLS. The answer came back yes. And of course, sometimes it works and sometimes not. Also inquired of a friend studying a modality called myofascial release to ask her teacher and again the answer was yes. This second prson said that it originates in the sacrum which is interesting because that is where I figured it was being generated from when I tuned in to my body during an attack. Long story short---I haven't tried it out yet because I'm in a transitory sort of a situation but some sessions in Cranio Sacral Therapy or Myofascial Release may bring results. I'll let you all know. If the source is the sacrum then that might explain the recliner chair problem. JEANNE According to chinese medicine spring is the time of year of the liver. This is an excellent time to do a liver cleanse and to take some herbs to support liver function. You may want to try a modified fast. Some people do a month long water fast. Anyway, cutting out all oils, eating lots of veggies and fruits and drinking a ton of water is a good way to help clear out the liver. There's a great drink you can have in the morning first thing to help flush the liver. Put a peeled lemon and two oranges, a garlic clove, one inch of fresh ginger root, pinch of cayenne pepper, a tablespoon of olive oil in a blender with about 10 OZ H20 blend up well and strain. The liver gets very stimulated by this drink especially the citrus. Maybe wait an hour before eating anything else. Dandelion which will be starting to grow soon is excellent for the liver. Tinctures from dandelion root are good as well as fresh root and tender dandelion greens in a salad are also good. Sylmarin which is the active ingredient in Milk Thistle seed is also excellent for the liver. Find a reputable acupuncturist with a solid background in chinese herbs to work with. As I said this is the season for working with the liver I'm going to do a search on liver cleanses and see what else I come up with.
