Guest guest Posted March 15, 2000 Report Share Posted March 15, 2000 You really touched a nerve (pun intended) about what shoes to wear with AFO's and/or orthotics. I have absolutely loved shoes since I was teen and it has become progressively harder to find a shoe that I like, supports my ankle and fits my budget! There are actually many nice lace-up shoes and ankle boots that are quite attractive right now and would probably work with your AFO's if you go up a size. One issue I deal with in the summer and that has been discussed before, is the fact that my feet get sooo hot! Wearing sneakers all the time mentally challenges me and I break down and wear sandals that don't support my ankle and make me walk sloppily. I may try to find a modified sandal with open toes and a full back this summer. Does anyone have any advice to this? Thanks again for the support.
