Anterograde (antegrade): moving or extending forward.

Retrograde: moving backward; degenerating, deteriorating.

Benzodiazepines have been associated with anterograde amnesia/memory loss;

where as, they don't cause retrograde amnesia/memory loss. Benzodiazepines

have also been associated with the inability of word recall.

Hence, benzo's can " retard " learning new things and the ability to recall

learned words but don't interfere with long-term memory.

So, I can remember my " old " wife very well but I keep forgetting my " new "

wife's name! Ouch! Just kidding!

This " old dog " knows everything anyway and what's left to learn, eh? Can't

teach an " old dog " new tricks anyhow! Ho-hum! LOL! Gimme another Xanadu!
