Guest guest
Dear Group, I've responded to Jack's letter, privately. To the group, I'd just like to clarify that I do not, by any means, claim to have discovered the cause of RLS. At this time, I would like to remind others to check the RLS Foundation site and go to the page on " causes " . http://www.rls.org/cause.htm There is quite a bit said about the effects of both pregnancy and iron deficiency as it relates to RLS. I don't think you can look at pregnancy and iron deficiency causes and NOT consider whether a monthly female cycle might also be a secondary cause or aggravator of RLS. For the men in the group, who prefer to not read about these female subjects, I'm sorry. I hope you will either delete the letters, quietly, while the rest of us consider this recognized correlation, or...more so, I hope you will read along and continue to question the possible causes and positive therapies for RLS. If female mineral deficiencies and hormonal changes can affect RLS, then I'm willing to believe males may learn something from this, too, and possible discover related causes in themselves. We've discussed a few males subjects in the group...like how medicines may cause male impotence. I learned a lot from following along. I learned, once again to be careful with medications and side effects, and I learned how our ailments AND our therapies can affect our relationships. I appreciate the frankness of the males, in discussing their personal problems....and I continue to appreciate the openness of the women to discuss what is extremely personal and sometimes embarrassing to share, but what very well may help someone else figure out their own problems with RLS.
