Guest guest
I just joined the group recently and I'd thought I'd introduce myself. I'm April from East Aurora, New York (near Buffalo).I'm 25 years old. My mother has CMT and I'm going to be tested this May. I decided to be tested after I had my second child. I have a two year old and a six month old. My six month old has reflux so he throws up alot. So,if you don't hear from me to often, you know why. Now that I'm being tested I have so many questions. Reading some of your messages has informed me alot. When I was in school I was the slow one in gym class. I remember being so embarrassed because I couldn't pull myself out of the water in swimming lessons. The instructor had to pull me out. Then I noticed when I walked for a long time I would start tripping. It was as if my foot didn't want to go anymore. Now after my second child I feel more tired and my legs hurt when I wake up in the morning. I read in one of the posts about twitching in the eye. My eye will do that sometimes and I have no idea why! My mother is going with me when I go the the neurologist. I hope that maybe she'll get the courage to go one herself. She was in and out of the hospital as a child and had some bad experiences. I don't even know all they did. I do know she has scars on her legs from so many surgeries. She's tried braces on her legs, but they seem to make it worse and she ended up throwing them. But there must be something that could help her. She can't stand without holding on to something, she walks with a cane, and her hands shake so much she has trouble with small tasks like buttoning. At first she told me she wasn't going to go with me because she " doesn't like those doctors " . She told me yesterday she'll go. That makes me feel so much better. So that's a little about me. Thanks for letting me join and for sharing with me.
