Guest guest
Good Afternoon, Everyone...... I have to say that I don't think it is fair to assume that no terrible illness or deaths have been caused by supplements simply because no one has recorded or proved or advertised the fact that they have. In my mind, they need to prove to me that they HAVEN'T caused them.......just my particular way of thinking, and my mind will not be changed on this. I will still continue to take the 10 to 15 supplements that I am now taking and I suppose will also. :-) And Hal........Egads, Hon........there is no way that I will ever compare the food that I prepare in my own kitchen with my own little hands to the supplements that I pick up on the shelf of my health food store! Remember....nobody is looking at that to guarantee it's safety. Yes, eating cooked tomato products with a little bit of fat (extra virgin olive oil preferred) is probably going to prevent a lot of cancer....many kinds. I try to eat some every day. Also broccoli, carrots, cabbage, milk, salmon, leafy veggies, garlic, onions, whole grains, cooked dry beans, all bran cereals, fruits - especially apples, oranges, strawberries and grapes - red peppers and olive oil... And.......Rosemary...... Nothing is a sure thing.....but this will surely give you a leg up! I understand full well that the FDA is far from being the perfect God that we would like it to be......but whether it is the FDA or someone else.......... supplements have GOT to be looked at and regulated. I find it so difficult to understand how, with all the millions and millions of dollars spent on supplements, fancy packaging and advertising....... almost none of the proper research has been documented and submitted. We are only now beginning to see some of this done. I am enclosing my two very favorite sites that I have found to be extremely helpful. I think you will happy to hold on to these, and want to explore them thoroughly. When I get a chance, I will also scan and send an article on some supplement/drug interactions that I read today. I wish now, that I had saved everything I have read about this. Stay well, Everyone!
