If they were choosing sides for baseball I would always be last because I couldn't run as fast. (In later years the P.E. teacher got smart and would let someone run for me. I could hit, but running was very hard.) When I was 7 and 8 I went to a school where 2 boys were extremely mean to me. They would call me crippled bat. I will never forget their faces. I was fortunate to have other friends (boy-friend) who would help me when needed. The teachers never did anything. One time I was in class after surgery and I was wearing a plaster cast and in a wheelchair. One of the boys asked me if he could sign my cast and I said no because I was afraid he would sign it crippled bat. He then took a one inch round & thick magnet and dropped it on my head.... This guy was a total loser. My family moved around alot, the longest I was in one school was 3 years, usually it was 1 or 2 years, this made it hard because I would have too start all over again with beeing accepted or not... In Jr. High I had to deal with MYRA GRIMES, she liked to beat me up, because I couldn't stand up if someone hit or bumped against me... I also couldn't run away. It seemed like my parents spent thier life at school that year. 3 different beatings I took before the school attempted to take action. Of course I also had very special friends who stood by me no matter what. In P.E. they would run at the back of the group just to keep me company. Other's would go out of thier way to show kindness. After High School, An adult now: Like others of you.... I have got the questions of did you hurt your leg? I would limp if I was tired. Now, I waddel ( LOL ) so they don't ask.
