My legs cramp as well. especially at night. My doctor perscribed Quinine pills.

He said I could get the same results by drinking quinine at bedtime as well. but

being in my mid 40's I don't drink anything at bedtime if I want to sleep.

Thanks so much on that info on bananas and leg cramps....my Grandson is

a banana nut now I wonder if the trouble he has been having with the bad

leg cramps is due in part to eating too many bananas We never knew this

and this could be the culprit......The info I get from you folks is

simply amazing.....again THANKS!!!

Cathy,

I read your post about your grandson and bananas. It just did not sound right

to me. So , I took to my books and read. I am a nurse, but not an expert. I

doubt your grandson can ingest too much potassium by eating bananas, unless

he has kidney problems. Too much potassium is usually obtained by potassium

supplements, not usually dietary. Muscle cramps can be explained by many

things but often they are due to insufficient calcium in one's diet. Of

course, his physician can rule that all out with blood tests, if this is

presenting a real problem.
