Guest guest
Yo HalWhite, I saw a posting of a concern you had for neurontin and its effect on certain bodily organs. As we have discussed, I take 900mg at 8am, 900mg at 3pm and 1500mg at 10:30pm-11pm. I have found that Neurontin, if taken in combination with other drugs( In my case it is Restoril to help me sleep) it has been known to dramatically expand the effect of that drug. For instance, I get shaky, lose memory, and I am starting to slur. The funny thing is that I thought I had a routine established but it is no longer effective. Although the Neuron taken at 8am and 3pm have helped my daytime RLS, it has some, but very little effect upon my nighttime RLS/PLMS. I can't increase the Neurontin because I could easily find myself totally " spaced out. " On the other hand, the Restoril by itself does not cause unwanted sideffects nor the Neurontin by itself either. It's the combination of Neurontin and other compounds that can be dangerous. I will send you awebsite link that will help you if you haven't found it already. It is a health page. Since Neurontin has not been vigorously tested, it has shown promise with epileptics(sp), it is an anticonvulsant. I take it to help with pain and daytime RLS. 1500mg at night helps me to get 2-4 hours sleep per night, but even that is interrupted by PLMS. In conclusion I would investigate Neurontin closely. I am going to stop it and the Restoril. The only effective long-term relief I have found via drugs was 2 mg Xanax to " knock me out at night, with no hangover. " The Percocete definitely helps my RLS/PLMS. Personally I am scared of new unclassified drugs. God knows what damage they might do. My physician, Dr. Papa, gave me some good advice, to stick with those drugs that have been shown to be effective over a long period of time. Maybe there is some truth to that. I await your findings on Neurontin's effect upon the liver and/or kidney. Ed-Cyberphilly
