Guest guest
Hi , Seeing the company Dr. is pretty routine, especially, since " you never mentioned it before " . (I'm with , Duh! Like, do we have an " obligation " to tell the world about our own CMT? What about boundaries? - just sounding off, OK, back to work) People sometimes think we are faking it, trying to either get out of work, get a better deal, bla bla bla. One suggestion I would offer is to have your regular Dr. call/write/ the company Dr. as soon as possible, to communicate EXACTLY that you in fact, have CMT, and that CMT does not affect your ability to work/or use your brain! Then, maybe you can make a list of job related accommodations that YOU NEED. For example, the need for frequent rest (get specific, whether naps, longer night sleep time, etc, or the co. might figure you need less work!) Also, that you need less time with walking. I would also get with your regular doctor on this to make sure everything is communicated to the company doctor/Human Resources/your boss. And document EVERYTHING - conversations with your boss, HR people, the company Dr, your Dr. By documenting, I mean, just making notes for yourself - and of course, keep these at home! Check into ADA for anything you can use related to the work environment. Here is the main site, http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahome1.htm Hope this helps.
