We've come a long way from how things were when I was a child and virtually all children with disabilities were hidden away. When I was young a child who was born with missing fingers was about as " different " as we saw. The world is a different place now, fortunately, with people appearing in malls, on buses, in schools and so forth in wheelchairs, with walkers or crutches and other mobility aids interacting freely in any group. Around here people rarely give them a second glance unless they have attractive clothes, nice hairstyle or some special reason to be noticed. Times have changed for the better in that way, at least in the Pacific Northwest. Kathleen
