Guest guest
I have company this weekend, so I'm short of time, but I just looked in " Sleep Thief " for the difference between augmentation and rebound. Maybe someone else will have more time and can relay more information to those who don't have Virginia 's great resource, yet. If you look on pages 126-127, she's written about the L-Dopa medications and the problems with rebound and augmentation. Wish I had time to do a summary for you. BUT...for now, here's the part on the difference in the two problems: " Two main problems have been noted with the use of these combinations medications: 'rebound,' the tendency of symptoms to recur late in the night or in the early mornng leading to poor sleep quality near morning and 'augmentation', tendency for symptoms to develop earlier in the day (e.g., morning or late afternoon instead of mid-evening) and to be more severe than before treatment. " Very similar...but different. The rest of the information in this chapter looks like a " must read " for anyone taking these meds. I highly recommend you get a copy of the book, or read the copy you have. )))) Take care, folks! Have a great weekend, Jill, 46 Payson, AZ http://www.netzone.com/~gunzel/rls.html
