Guest guest
In the absence of Dr. Levin, who I believe was specially trained in pharmaceuticals.....remember to make good use of your local pharmacist. Or ANY pharmacist, for that matter. The pharmacist will know his own bounds and limitations in terms of giving advice that might overstep your doctor's orders. But you can ask many questions of him, concerning dosages, drug interactions, and drug side effects. He can tell you when it might be a drug side effect that you are dealing with and when you should go right back to your doctor to have it adjusted. If you go to one pharmacist, but to several doctors for different ailments, your pharmacist may be the only person with a complete record of what you are on and how those drugs may interact. Use his services...they're free. I learned this lesson once when my kids were young. My son had an eye infection. I went to the doctor (paid the bill) and got the medicine (paid THAT bill). My neighbor, who's child appeared to have the same problem, went to the pharmacist and was given an OTC ointment that was cheaper (and no doctor bill) and her son's problem cleared up as fast as mine did. Lesson learned. Pharmacists are quite valuable for more than just putting your pills in the bottle for you.
