Guest guest
Dancing! Used to be my favorite thing in life; I danced better alone; and hubby and I used to laugh because I was such a good dancer (alone) but when I tried to dance with him I couldn't follow him. We finally figured out (it wasn't him) its a matter he(or anyone else) throws me off balance; having to move when he moves and which direction he moves (following his or anyone's lead and not being able to adjust my body in space quick enough to match them). Now I can't last long dancing even with AFO's and don't try since hubby never really liked to dance anyway; now I entertain myself with my singing! And when we turn on the " buggy " music and the kids feel the urge; I use my husband's roller office chair and buggy in the chair! I still can move my upper body and have a good time! I have propreoception problems and this is probably why some with CMT are still able and some are not. We don't know where our body's are in relation to space around us. I touch walls when I walk down the hall so I won't run into the door jams and bruise my hips going through a door. But, also had a habit of shutting my fingers in doors to for holding on to the wrong side of the jam at times. Seen the same pattern with my youngest daughter age 6 yrs; who we are having diagnosed, and should have results of DNA test in a nether week. Those of you who still can enjoy dancing. . . do it as often as you get the chance for I wish I had more, now that I can't! " Dance like nobody is watching!
