Guest guest
If for one minute we were to link hands around the globe and feel the likeness of our humanity, we would never again be the same. In looking into the hearts and eyes of each other, we would see our lives reflected back. The circumstances would be different, but our fears, dreams, and hurts would be the same. When we reach out to harm another, we would come to understand that we are in fact hurting ourselves and future generations. There is a bond created by the sameness of humanity that, if understood could light fires of compassion around the world. We are more alike than we are different. In the fact lies the hope of communication and eventual global understanding. And let us not forget that it is as important to this understanding that we reach out to a nearby neighbor as it is to do so with someone halfway around the globe. Our journey of peace must begin with a single step. This is not the pipe dream of a few, but a power that can change the world. Today, let me do my part to light a fire of compassion, believing that one day there will be enough fires lit to allow us to really see each other. ------------ Not written by Kat in Seattle ------------ " Instructions For Life " Improve your performance by improving your attitude.
