Guest guest
Gang, My two cents worth on concentration. It seems like the minute I turn off the light at night the RLS kicks in. I agree, if I dwell on it, the sensations only get worse. Usually, I have just taken my Xanax and it takes about 15 or so minutes to work. So I really concentrate hard on something else, usually pleasant, and visualize with sights, sounds, smells as detailed as I can. (Last night I took a trip to New Orleans and visited every place there I could think of that I like.) I dropped off before I finished my trip. On the other hand, when I'm worrying about how bad it is going to be, even with the Xanax it takes a long time to go to sleep. I feel lucky that I have been able to control (usually) things with the same dose of Xanax that I started on two years ago. But it is not all luck, I have worked hard with other things (tricks Jill would say) to keep it managed without having to go to the stronger medications. (Klonopin was awful mentally, and I can't imagine what my GI tract would do with the Parkinson's drugs.) Jo from Mo, windy in Texas
