Guest guest
Hi everyone: I thought my recent experiences with Mirapex might be of interest to some others. I've been taking Mirapex for several weeks, along with either Ambien or Restoril to counteract the insomnia caused by Mirapex, and I've noted the following disappointing reactions: One, the Mirapex causes such severe nasal congestion that I'm forced to sleep with my mouth open for most of the night. This is fairly uncomfortable due to the dried out tongue and lips; and highly undignified due to the drooling and concomitant soggy pillow. :-) Moreover, another side-effect, nasal drainage, causes such severe nausea that I frequently have to lie on the floor once I get out of bed to stop myself from throwing up. Two, although I've only been taking Mirapex about 3-4 times per week before bedtime for PLMS (I don't have much RLS) I've already started to see augmentation and rebound. Initially, two .25mg Mirapex tabs would stop my kicking; now 6 tabs don't stop them, and last night my kicks--for the first time--started while I was wide awake and with my eyes open. All in all, a disappointing experiment. If my doc won't switch me to Neurontin, I'll try to switch docs. Take care, Hal ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
