Hi all,

It's funny you all have been talking about falling recently - hope you don't

mind a brief story about my weekend.

Many of you on this list know I have mentioned my 3 daughters belong to a

dance company - including my 9-yr-old with CMT. We had our first

competition this weekend. I have a sewing business and was able to do a lot

of the costumes - but got behind schedule and got very little sleep last

week trying to get everything done in time.

All of you know no sleep and CMT do not mix well. To top it off, I am

actually in one of the numbers (yes in my AFO's and everything!!!!)

because the instructor needed more bodies on the stage. The competition was

2 days (Sat and Sun). My number performed on Sunday.

Well on Saturday I was looking for 2 of my girls to make sure they had

checked in with the stage manager before one of their numbers was due up.

Has anyone ever tried to walk backstage behind a curtain in the dark??? As

tired as I was, I tripped on a bar and fell flat, and i mean flat, on my

face. I smacked my nose and my right eye. I have never gone down in a fall

so hard. Long story short, I may have fractured the bridge of my nose but

the new " bump " I have is small enough that I think I can live with it as is.

I am thankful I did nothing more to my eye area than bruising and a slight

cut.

Well, that was Saturday. On Sunday, I still got out there and performed -

first time ever on a stage " dancing " . I don't do much actual dancing, but

for me it was a victory just to even try!

I'm ready to go out again in the next competition, although this time I will

make sure I have had PLENTY OF REST so my feet work better, onstage,

offstage and backstage.

I tried something new, I fell down, I got back up again and I kept on going.

All in all, not a bad weekend. Life is good.

Have a great week everyone.

Ruth
