Explain to me just how you clean that nose peice each day. Do you take it off the fabric straps and put it in water? I have been wiping it off each day with baby wipes and try to once a week clean it with hoses in vinager water an dwarm wate I just soak it in the washer or tub.And allow it to dry but it never drys out completely so run the CPAP for a few minutes until it drys out some more>> Well, to be honest, I can't remember when I last cleaned my nose piece! I do clean the nasal pillows daily with warm soapy water, Listerine, rubbing alcohol and/or whatever is next to the sink! No, I don't use Comet nor Liquid Plumber! IMHO, the constant moisture retained in the nose piece carries with it a related risk of mildew/mold/pseudomonas/legionnaires disease and such outweigh the risk of a " little " bit of nasal secretions, if you know what I mean. <<<.... Is it not usually when your nose and throat are dry that you are open to more infections and sore throats?>>> Yes, I think so too. During the winter months, I " swear " that my CPAP machine keeps and/or makes me sick! Due to my work, I am constantly exposed to viral illnesses and such. I have to take a break from it so as to get well again. << How do you breathe out of CPAP when you have a stuffy head cold?>> Hate to admit it but I depend on Afrin nasal spray. I try to take periodic breaks so as not to get too dependent on it. If I think that I have become " Afrin " dependent, I either just suffer it out for a few days without the spray nor the CPAP machine and/or I use a steroid nasal spray to get off of it until the next time. << And how do you keep getting a ridge mark between your eyes? Jeanie Stout >> I don't! I just consider it a " beauty mark " indicating a good night of sleep! ha! Hope the above helps and thanks to the group for allowing to post this to the list.
