Guest guest
alisha here, after reading the posts on pain i decided to put my two cents in. i have pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. i was on amitrypline(sp?) and gabapentin(sp?) for pain and they didn't seem to work at all but maybe it was b/c i wasn't being monitored at all. so now i am on no meds for pain but i would like to be b/c i just can't stand it. also i would love to vent as well b/c maybe someone has an answer for me. i have x-linked cmt and b/c of the way it works i am the only female in the WHOLE FAMILY that has symptoms of cmt. neow the other people that have symptoms are males. now my dad said that if mine was a new special strain of cmt then some other female should have these symptoms as well! well i don't thinks thats fair and i don't know how to answer. i am going to ask my neuro in may when i see her about this. i also get really cold hand and feet all the time and its not circulation problems at all. i don't know why its happening. it just seems that when i am going something on the computer my hands get really cold as well do my feet. any insight??? Guest guest
Dear Alisha, Can you discuss pain management with your doctor? If you aren't taking anything your quality of life will be affected by the pain. I remember being a teenager in pain. I can understand you. Get help. Talk to a family doctor if that is available to you and go from there. Trust that you will feel better and function better.
