It sounds more like radicular pain which is from nerve compression somewhere on the sciatic nerve. Sciatic nerve pain can be sharp, shooting pain or dull ache. It often goes down the back of the leg, may or may not go down to the toes and it can go from the side around to the knee along the thigh. This can be from the back or a spasm in the buttocks or both. Remember that compression on the sciatic nerve also stimulates RLS. So, have your back and pelvic/sacral alignment checked out. RLS and back problems often do go hand in hand. Don't assume that all pain is from RLS though it can be painful as everyone is testifying to - you may be experiencing a connected problem. Find a physical therapist that uses manual therapy to treat it if you can. As for Anaprox, I find that taking Advil or other anti-inflamatories does help.
