Guest guest
Hypertensive (high blood pressure) patients who lie awake at night may be at greater risk for heart damage than those who sleep through the night - another good reason for us RLS'ers to get a good night of sleep. In the January issue of the American Journal of Hypertension, researchers examined the effect of sleep deprivation on blood pressure and heart rate. Those researchers found that blood pressure and heart rate were higher during a sleep deprivation period of 11 pm to 3 am and during 3 am to 7am period of sleep than they were during a routine night of sleep. What's more, blood pressure and heart rate were higher UNTIL noon the day after a sleep-deprived night than during a morning after a full night's sleep. RAINBOWPED@...
