I find it is the only way to get what you need and what you want. Keep

ringing the doctors, hospitals etc up otherwise they forget you. I needed to see

an Occupational Therapist so back in Feb I asked my GP for a referral. By June I

hadn't heard anything so I asked him again. Then last Thursday I rang them

directly and saw an OT yesterday.

My sons and I need to see an Orthotist but the only way I can see on is to

be referred by and Orthopedic guy, they sent us a letter saying we are on the

list. I rang them yesterday and they informed me that there was over a years

waiting list to see this guy.I told them it was urgent and I don't wait a year

to see any doctor, they'll be sending us an appointment within the next couple

of weeks to see him soon and if its not satisfactory I shall ring again. Its sad

that with all our other problems we have to do this but it's our lives not

theres.

Calling doctors ourselves!

Here I thought I was the only one the Dr. doesn't call back. So I wait

a couple of days and CALL HIM back and try to light a fire under his

butt! I am finding it more and more that I have to be assertive and

follow up on the Drs. and orders, and labs and xRays and tests and all.

So what do you all do when YOUR doctor doesn't call back? Same thing?
