Hello Cyber Support Group,

That sounded corny, huh? Well, , my 16 yr old daughter had her follow

up appt with the pedi sleep Dr. She's the Dr who was mentioned in the latest

newsletter. Anyway, , DOES NOT have Narcolepsy, thank God. has

what Mommy has, RLS/PLMD-go figure!! No apnea.I remember in an earlier post

I was surprised by the Dr.'s initial dx of Narcolepsy, I had pegged

for , what it turns out she does have, RLS/PLMD.The plan is to have her be

able to sleep for 9 hrs a night, for 2wks, to see if that helps with her

daytime drowsiness, if not, it's medication time-maybe :)I also asked the

Dr. to check her Ferritin level-does anyone have the data on adolesant

levels? are they the same as adults? So then we went to get her blood

drawn...

Prior to 's appt., was another appt with her Cardiologist. This all

started about 1 1/2yrs ago when she " went out of the picture " at the hair

dresser. Everyone , more or less played it down, saying that it was " hair

grooming syncope " , and thier is such an animal, but she had been going to

the hair dresser for years. also has a history of fainting-that was

attributed to her new and blossoming " hormones " .In a round about way, a

blessing occured. had a full fledged, whatever, the Dr calls it

vaso-vagal syncope, but her eyes were rolling and she became diapharetic,

the whole ball of wax.And people wonder why I'm over protective, she didn't

even feel this coming on. When I called for help, her cardiologist was the

first one there. After she was stablilized, he she may have to go on meds.

For any of you who have not called your mothers-DO IT NOW!!! and

if,they're not around please say a prayer or something. All the worrying that

a Mother does, that's our job and we don't mind.

Gotta go le
