I do know that some medications can cause " emotional " responses, usually dependent on an individual persons reaction. I do have some experience with Klonopin, and would suggest that the side effect was to make me not only groggy but less aware and able to think things through. (That is the main reason I quit it.) I really believe that the more common explanation is as you said, sleep deprived and/or persons in pain are more likely to overreact and respond with anger. However, one cannot totally eliminate the effects of medications, especially as many as some as our members take.
