Guest guest
Hello Group- Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you all about the sleep logs. I only received information from 8 people, and 3 of those were my patients (it is sometimes difficult even to get them to keep logs!). Here are some descriptive stats: I believe that 7 of the 8 respondents were taking meds. One person did not indicate one way or the other, but he/she was only obtaining 2-3 hrs of total sleep time. Hopefully this individual was not medicated, or the medication was having no effect. Here is the breakdown: #1- no meds #2- Sinemet CR and regular release Sinemet #3- Sinemet CR and Klonopin #4- Permax #5- Sinemet and Permax #6- Mirapex (also Xanax and Vicodin, but not every night) #7- Ultram, Vicodin and Klonopin #8- Sinemet or Permax All repondents either reported some benefit from these meds and/or the sleep log directly revealed this. I will post more specifics about the logs soon- I promise! I continue to read the posts and this group has been of enormous benefit to our patients. One thing I do is keep track of the threads, and update our RLS/PLMD protocol accordingly. By the way, I had our librarian do a lit search crossing RLS with menopause and menses (one of our patients had brought up this issue and I noticed it had been discussed here). The search did not turn up anything. --Clifford
