Hello Rose-Marie,

Vitamin E in 1000 IU daily seems to help my muscles. Guess this has to

do with blood flow into muscles. I am only midly affected with CMT. I

started Vitamin E at the high dose at the suggestion of my doctor, 2

years ago.

About exercise - I ride a bike, garden, swim, and when it is not

raining, doing some horsebackriding. All of this I do outside. For me,

being outside and breathing fresh air while getting the exercise I feel,

is helpful. I have had to learn the hard way to pace myself in exercise

and all activities for that matter, remembering that I do have some

limitations. Sometimes I forget that and overdo. So, for me, light

exercise seems to be beneficial. I mean no tri-athalons or no 25 mile

bike rides, and only 1 hour maximum on horseback. I do OK with a short

5-10 mile bike ride, on flat surfaces. Gardening is something I just

love and I get totally " lost " in my garden, and before I know it I can

overdo that. Again, learning to pace myself is trial and error!

I used to drink alcohol, mostly to cope with pain from CMT. I stopped

drinking 20 years ago, then my CMT seemed to get more manageable and

better. I drink no alcohol at all now-ever.

About 2 years ago I changed my eating habits, I went to a low-fat,

almost vegetarian diet. This really worked, not only loosing weight, but

I started eating really healthy, and organic foods. No sugar products

either. It wasn't hard. I just changed to this gradually. Again, this

was with my doctor's go ahead and guidance.
