Guest guest
I have had rls for about 10 years. During that time have tried various meds, among them clonodine, permax, sinemet, klonopin. None of these helped appreciably. The last was clonodine which my neuro touted as sure to help but it did nothing at all to curb my symptoms. For the past 6 months in my opinion I have been on the bet med of all NOTHING! I sleep using one 10 MG Ambien; one half hour after taking the pill I am asleep and usually awaken only once for the bathroom. During the day I notice when I sit, especially with my feet raised by symptoms worsen, especially an intense burning sensation in both feet. The symptoms lessen while sitting, walking and lying down. Over the years none of the meds have lessened symptoms enough to continue with them. I have concluded that since no med is designed specifically for rls they do not really do much. A bit of actual symptom diminishment and some placebo effect is the way I would describe what happens. Only the doctors and drug companies actually benefit. We really get victimized twice;once by the disease and secondly by a yearning for relief that never arrives. My recommendation is that until a cause and remedy for that cause is found to avoid meds meant and designed for another disease. Very truly yours, Art
