Guest guest
Hi gang. I wanted very much to get off my Ambien sleep medication, so began cutting it down to 1/2 tablet. But I didn't sleep too good with that. I've seen KavaKava mentioned here many times, so I got some. One tablet did not good, but 2 taken about 3/4 hr before I get into bed, seems to put me to sleep very nicely. Though I wake up probably after 3-4 hours, I almost always go back to sleep, to get my regular 7-8 hours rest. My question: Is KavaKava harmful in any way? Does it have side effects? Is it somewhat like marijuana or opium? The clerk at the health food store said I could take 1 or 2, but never more, because I could get " euphoric " which I interpreted to mean I could get on somewhat of a high. Is it addictive? Am I swapping one pill addiction for another? I also read about Valerian. It states on the bottle it induces sleep. Is it better than KavaKava? I vaguely remember reading somewhere lately that it had side effects, but I'm not sure. Those of you who take either KavaKava or Valerian, if you could write me direct and give your opinions, I'd appreciate it. Or if you think it might help others, post it to the group. Thanks so much.
