Guest guest
I need your advice. I am going to see my GP this Tuesday so that we can get a really good start on our RLS relationship. I do not know exactly how much he knows about RLS. He prescribed Klonopin 4 years ago ( it did nothing). Then, when I read about Sinemet in the JAMA, I made an appt with him and asked about it. He is not one to instatly prescribe meds but after I told all the home remedies I have tried, he agreed to RX it. I have been on it for 3 weeks and it has helped a lot (dosage 25/100). I am over the headache side effects. Is it best to stay on the present dosage and not increase if the symptoms start to reappear ( which they are SLOWLY doing)? I understand that augmentation can result and I will have to try another approach. All in all, my symptoms are mild but EVERY night. I have had this for 35 years and I self-diagnosed myself after a lot of reaading. None of my doctors paid much attention to my complaints until this doctor whom I have been seeing for 10 years. We really have not talked much about it as I felt there was nothing that could be done UNTIL I found this group. I printed out a lot of info from this group as well as the LRS website and I took it to him last week hoping he would read up on it before my appt. The whole point of this appt is to (1)establish the fact that I have RLS and (2)to find out just how much he knows about it and (3) to review my options in terms of meds etc. Can you all give me some advice...things to bring up, etc? Thanks Gloria 57 soon to be 58 in Louisiana
