Well, group, say a prayer. I've decided that the amount of Trazadone I'm

having to take to get to sleep (up to 300 mg over a four-year period) is too

much and that I need a drug holiday.

I have read with interest your various experiences with other drugs -

mirapex, etc. - and just don't want to take the chance of augmentation that

so many of your seem to have experienced.Trazadone has at least " knocked me

out " and enabled me to get an adequate amount of sleep over the years, but

I'm now concerned that it may be actually triggering the RLS. I used to have

periods of relief from the RLS and PLMD (which is at its worse now - I feel

like a fish out of water).

So, as of tonight.... no meds.

I have to admit that I am also concerned about how many of you mix

medications and self medicate. Please be careful! I know how hard it is to

resist overmedicating when it's three in the morning and you have to go to

work at 7 a.m. As a recovering alcoholic (for almost 20 years) the only time

I was seriously in danger of picking up a drink was at just such a time.

Fortunately I resisted, but oh, do I know the temptation.

Wish me luck...
