Dear Meg,

I have never discussed this with anyone before, but I have done extensive

research on Tourettes Syndrome and come to the conclusion that I, too, have

this.........along with RLS.

Most people would laugh at me because they think of Tourette's as being just

loud vocal expressions or wild movements. My own family would say that I was

crazy to think this.........except perhaps my daughter, whose has asked me a

few times about some soft little sounds that I sometimes make when I think I

am alone and under emotional stress.

I am in total control around people.......that's the stress of

Tourette's........which bursts loose when I am alone. Many with Tourette's

just have the need to repeat certain words or phrases over and

over..........or to echo something they have heard, repeatedly....perhaps to

blink their eyes a little too much. There is also a connection to Obsessive

Compulsive Disorder with Tourette's. Unwanted thoughts forcing their way into

your head..........the need to touch something over and over......OCD is not

only constant washing of one's hands and that sort of thing. Many of us have

small degrees of these disorders that we live with perfectly well. But it

has, indeed, occurred to me that RLS may be connected in some way to

Tourettes.....and I believe I have actually read that in some of the thousands

of pages I have read by now.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us..........it's an interesting

question indeed.

Connie
