Guest guest
Ann, Please, PLEASE........do not feel that I am taking a stand on Aspartame usage here. I do not use it personally. I did NOT say.......and the article does NOT say.......that Aspartame or any other drug or supplement or additive will not cause side effects or allergy problems in certain people. Neither Dr. Dean nor I have said that it is " absurd that Aspartame could cause side effects " . There will always be some people that will have a bad reaction to just about anything and we must always be on guard for this. I'm sure there are many people who do indeed, react to Aspartame in particular......some get headaches and some have problems with a certain brain chemical. The article in question was simply too severe in it's statement though. Debbie knows that I appreciate her warning as much as you do, Ann.....and we should all sit up and pay attention any time something such as this comes along. As soon as I saw it though, I remembered seeing it several times before, sailing around the internet, through different people or groups, and it did occur to me to question the full truthfulness of the article. I did not comment on this though, because I was in no position to judge. It was not until I opened my Health Central Newsletter and read Dr. Dean's comments that I felt I should reassure the group. What Dr. Dean was saying was that this particular notice was not a valid one........that the statements within were not truthful.....even the places, actions and people mentioned were not all truthful. My purpose in sending this to the group was to show the other side of the coin, as we so often try to do, and to prevent some of us from getting the idea that we might have contracted MS because we have been using Aspartame. Dr. Dean wants only to set the record straight that it is something else in our world that is causing most of the MS that you see today. At the end of the article he clearly states that he does not recommend the use of Aspartame. The facts as respresented in the Aspartame Internet Warning were not entirely truthful statements.............Dr. Dean is the fourth physician I know of who has taken a stand on this. I think it is only fair to pass this information along with whatever else is out there. If anyone in the group is offended by this, I hope they will contact me, either through the group or personally. It was not my intention to negate Debbie's very kind endeavor here. Most Sincerely, Connie, 61, MD
