Guest guest
Hi Ed: I do have most of what you describe, except that I wake up in terrible pain as well. Tickle on the inside of the bone. Now that's one that makes sense. When that happens I just go nuts. No that in itself is not a pain per se, but almost a bone deep constant slight electric shock pulse that makes me want to crawl out of my skin. I can go absolutely nuts until some medication of some kind (torodol is usually best for that one) relieves it so it is manageable. Ants crawling around in my bones; worms writhing; I guess we all can find a correct term that fits our own condition. I have had constant anemia for many years. Not terribly serious, but there. That is one clue that made me think yea that's me. I just started some iron yesterday and I'm doing better today -- maybe from the iron, maybe because the storm front pressure broke and we're getting snow instead of just the pressure clouds. Yes, I thrash in my sleep and rarely wake up with covers still on. That can make it worse in the morning because then I'm freezing cold and that adds to the morning pain. I wake my hubby up too. I usually wake about 4 times in the night, usually in a panic it seems from pain. But maybe the RLS is exacerbating my pain syndrome and it's a whole other thing. I think I'm a Pandora's box of many yukkie things. The night I had knee replacement surgery and before they hooked up my pain pump, the pain from the surgery was worsened by the " worms " , that I was kicking and crying (something I rarely do) and I thought I was going to tear my legs and arms off. The pain was one thing, and it was very bad, but the " worms " made me want to put a bullet in my head. My husband stayed with me until I finally got to sleep, but I woke up from it all through the night. Shaking is one thing I do, when I am able to move my legs (ms paralysis); Since I can't walk, I pound on my muscles both arms and legs which really upsets my husband. But what else can I do. I hope you don't mind that I sent this to the group as well. But right now I can use any and all input. Thanks for caring.
