Folks: Had to get into this discussion re osteopaths. In January I came home

with the Texas Flu. The respiratory part only lasted a week but I wound up with

a pain in my back that I describe as enamel-off-the-teeth grinding pain. Picture

trying to sleep...back pain that hurt with every movement and the twisting and

turning involved with rls. After two miserable weeks I decided to give in and

go to a dr. A friend recommended an osteopath; my first experience with one. I

had no idea what they even did. Only knew that they were " bone doctors " . After

a single treatment which involved very gentle manipulation I had pain relief. A

second treatment and the severe pain was gone. My back felt " weak " and being on

my feet too long was wearisome but the acute tooth-grinding pain was gone. I've

gone back one more time but feel no need to return again. Truly I was very

impressed with what this DO did for me.

Five years ago I had the flu, the same severe back pain appeared and I tried a

chiropractor. What he put me through was hell or at least my purgatory for the

remission of most of the sins of my past life.

Well I'm sold on osteopaths. I went into a website to find out what their

medical background is. It's impressive. They also are involved in " pain

management " and he had a good suggestion for that seemingly endless post

herpetic neuralgia of mine....and it doesn't involve pain killing drugs.

Regards, Ann Cianflone
