I use Neurontin

Hi Ron, I started taking Neurontin 6 months ago with excellent results.

It was prescribed to me for shooting/burning/electrical type pain. That

pain is gone. I take 900 mg. a day. If you go to our main page at CMTUS

and click on " links " , you will see several links to some info. on

Neurontin. Starting Neurontin was a bit weird. But I increased the dose

quickly, to minimize the ramping effects, which were for me, mostly

sleepiness. I did this over a period of 3 days. Neurontin works great

for 1/3 of people taking it at first, another 1/3 require some time

before it kicks in (a few months) and another 1//3 it does nothing for.

important to realize is that NO studies have been done on CMT persons

taking Neurontin, BUT, in persons with periphial neuropathy, studies

have shown good results.Neuronton is an anti-epileptic medication, now

being used for " off label " purposes of pain, depression, chronic

fatigue, etc. I'm very happy with it. It basically stops the misfirings

of pain in the brain that send messages to the nerves, that create that

pain. I have had nothing but good side effects, like more energy,

clearer head, greater focus, increased libido,to name a few.
