Guest guest
Dear Group, In response to the earlier message about ABC News and RLS, I visited the ABC News Web site (http://chat.abcnews.go.com/chat/chat.dll?room=new_sleepdisorder) and found the following information. " Women and Sleep Disorders Ask Dr. Joyce Walsleben your questions Dr. Joyce Walsleben, the director of New York University's sleep lab, joins us live on ABCNEWS.com Tuesday, Mar. 2 at 1:30 pm EST to answer your questions on what to do about sleep disorders. Walsleben believes a hormonal imbalance might interfere with sleep before and during a woman's period. Ask her why that is and more. " You can post your questions on-line now and participate in the chat tomorrow. I'll try to be there, how about you? Cate
Guest guest
Cate, Thanks for passing this along. PLEASE, PLEASE folks, DO go to the chat or go to the URL Cate listed and post a question about RLS. This is potentially a golden opportunity. They'll probably not get a lot of questions, and (based on how the media often deals with other issues) the more questions about RLS the more likely one or more RLS questions will be addressed. Also, there may be further good consequences of a " good showing " of RLS quesitons. Dr. Walsleben has been quoted in the media quite a bit in the past, and likely in the future; knowing that a high percentage of people have RLS questions could encourage her to spread the word. And sometimes statistics from these ersatz " straw polls " filter upward; who knows, it might encourage ABC News to do more news coverage on RLS. Carry on, PS- ABC may change the URL just prior to the live chat; so if the URL does not work, try going to http://abcnews.go.com/onair/goodmorningamerica/GMAIndex.html and work your way through to the chat area. ABC usually posts the chat transcript sometime after the chat (eg by the following day).
