Guest guest
Hi Group, Instead of clogging up your memory with a bunch of letters, I thought I'd just write one, and mention several things some of you wrote in. My computer and scanner both were in the shop for about a week, and when I got it back I had over 200 letters to read, so I got way behind, and I'm just now getting caught up. Donna, you mentioned migraine headaches. Can't remember exactly what you wrote because I've deleted all the letters I've read, but I did jot down (Donna, Migraine) but it reminded me of the kind I get. Believe it or not, there is NO pain, It's a silver flashing zig zag above one of my eyes, It slowly moves upward toward the center of my face, and I have no vision on the opposite side of the flashing zig zag. It last about 45 minutes. If I try to read something I can only see one word at a time and the next word appears when I move my eye toward it. No peripheral vision on that side at all. If I were to be driving, I would have to pull over and wait for it to pass. I've told 2 doctors about it and both say it's a migraine w/out the pain. Recently I told my neurologist about it and he is sending me to an ophthalmologist, he said it may be a retinal migraine or could be something more serious, and the pain could come eventually. Joanne, I loved the Rose site you sent to us. I'm going to write a letter to you personally when I get caught up on things. I'm trying to get everything together for my first support group meeting on March 6th. I've sent my story to several newspapers on the Eastern Shore, so people with restless legs will recognize the symptoms and call in. I'm scared, but excited. I found out why I couldn't send that picture. It was huge, but I'll email you later. Hope you're getting some relief. I'm praying for you. ta, You mentioned behind the knees, Yes, Yes, Yes. I can't press the ligaments behind my knees hard enough. They ache soo much. The thumb just won't do it, sometimes I think RLS somehow starts in the knees and behind them, but I certainly know what you mean. Debbie, Please think twice before you take Elavil (or Trivial) I didn't have RLS bad until I took them. Others in this group can tell you the same thing. Riaz, Please tell me what juzo stockings are, I believe it was you that mentioned them and the ace bandages once before, but I didn't really take it in, but now I need them because of my sensitive skin. And Anne, you are soooooo right about the songs from the 50's. Now that was real music. I can remember my daddy saying our music was noise, like I used to tell my kids with their rock and roll, but now I don't know what it is, it certainly doesn't take any talent, just lungs. I graduated in 52. Those really were the good ole days. Jodi, last but not least, I'm soo sorry I'm late in responding to your illness. It's not that I wasn't thinking about you, It's just that there was so much to answer and comment on, that I knew I had to do it in one long letter.. Better than writing 8 or 10 separate ones. Most of you have probably hit your delete button already anyway, but I am glad you are well again. I was wondering about when you told us about taking valium and it worked wonders for you. Is it still working like that? I asked my doctor to give me a month supply for night only, but it didn't do a thing for me, so I quit taking them. My Permax is helping some, but I still can't sleep good. Sorry this is soo long, but I'm done now for awhile, I'm glad you're back with us. Take care of yourself so you won't have a relapse. We missed you. June 64, Delaware ..
